Degree of protection (IP-code)
According to standard IEC 60529 and/or DIN EN 60529
The degree of protection was specified and divided into several classes, indicated in the following way:
IP 67 (IP = International Protection + 2 indices with class of protection (see following tables)

| 7 | protected against temporary immersion in water (intrusion of water causing harmful effects shall not be possible when the enclosure is immersed in water for 30 minutes in 1m depth) |
| 8 | protected against permanent immersion in water (intrusion of water causing harmful effects shall not be possible when the enclosure is continously immersed in water under conditions which shall be agreed between manufacturer and user but which are more severe than for numeral 7) |
